How to clear the clouds away

Yes, we've all been there, new kit, clouds everywhere for weeks...Just taken delivery of Norton's Sky Atlas and Reference Handbook (thanks Greenwitch) and the skies are clear, do I go out or stay in and read!

Had a quick flick through, looks to be really good, I'm surprised it doesn't get more recommendations along with TLAO and Every Photon.
