Tracking Options

Could someone please explain what the 3 options for tracking on my Synscan are for.

I assume that "Lunar" and "Solar" tracking options are fairly obvious but what is "Sidereal"?

Is this for stars?

What tracking do I select for planets?

Hi Jimmy

Your are quite correct sidereal is the stars tracking rate.

For planets choose solar.

You could select 'autotracking' from the utilities menu. If you use the goto to locate the object, the auto tracking selects the correct rate for you.
