And another M45!

I suppose it's no surprise that beginners like me go for the easy targets - my excuse was that I couldn't get the scope to properly align with CdC/EQMOD on Sunday night, so I went for targets I can easily find!

Here's my M45. 29 subs, 20s ISO800, darks & bias. Processed in PI, levels adjusted and webified in PS.

The stacked image seemed quite noisy, and I'm wondering if there's a level at which there's no point in taking more of the same duration subs, ie deteriorating SNR?

I had another go at this to try and bring out the blue dust a bit more. I discovered in the process that my original above used 25s lights, not 20s, and I had used 20s darks. I didn't take 25s darks so tried some 30s ones on mark2. Think there'll be a mark3 when I sort that out!

Very nice capture, i do prefer the first one though to be honest as it looks more natural, but both nice results.
