Synscan Help

Please can I ask for some advice about star alignment with Synscan.

I performed 2 separate alignments last night, approx an hour apart. When asked to "Select Region" I chose "Northern Sky" (I am in Sheffield) but later had to choose "North East Sky" because I got the response of "No Objects Found" with my orginal choice.

I am sure there is an obvious answer to this but, why did this happen?

Anyone? I'm sure it's me just being a bit slow to grasp things but it seems odd that after a while one option is not valid. I know some stars may have "set" but I'm still in The North right?

Jimmy, I used ny Synscan for the first time last night. I went for the 2 star alignment- I looked up the positions of stars visible from my backgarden using "stellarium" (free download!).

Alignment was a doddle. It then went to every star I knew (about 6) once aligned. Tonight I've been doing "double stars" great fun.

Ah!

I have been using the "Brightest Star" option. I see from my instructions that the 2 Star does not ask you to input a region.

i've also tried what you did and was sratching my head for hours, "what do you mean, no odjects found?" the sky was full!

Went to 2 star alignment and bingo works all the time, only ever use this method now
