Dew Shields & Heaters

After my fuzz (fun) & games on my first real attempt with my Skymax-127 you have advised me that my lack of a sharp image was probably down to a combination of not enough cool down, dew and poor seeing.

Can anyone explain at bit more to me about dew prevention with shields and/or heaters.

Do Skywatcher make their own dewshields specifically for my Mak or can I get a universal fitting one?

You can use either a dew shield or a heated dew strip or both on dewey nights. You can make a dew sheild from an old foam camping mat.

Dew prevention stuff is more or less essential with maks and sct's in the UK - I still don't know why they aren't supplied with dew sheilds as standard as refractors are.
