SeedyF - I am indeed a Spurs fan. I was born just 1 mile away and have suffered for years, so am now relishing the success at the Lane!

Back to the astronomy bit...your advice is brilliant. Thank you. I have had a look around for the SPC900 but they all seem to go for around £30-40 without the accessories, so I'll be checking out the site you recommended. I've taken some half decent shots with my mobile and video camera but can't wait to see some real detail with a webcam.

Unfortunately I haven't got a motorised mount so I guess I'll have to stay outside and move it manually!!! That bit might wait until the summer though....

I downloaded Registax yesterday but don't really understand it to be honest! Could you explain how I use it and if it could 'stack' images taken from my video camera..both still and video?

Thanks to everyone else for welcoming me along to SGL and there is so much advice available I'm overloading with information at the moment!!
