Dew Problems

Hello i have a astrozap flexi dew shield and need to get a astrozap dew

controller from flo but want to run it from a plug socket i asked flo do

they do an a adapter but they do not so they said have a look on the

maplins site and found this will this do the job

DON'T use the mains!!!!! (Unless you know exactly what you are doing). You would be better off using a 12v battery. Maplins sell them:

3in1 Portable Jumpstarter : InCar Battery Chargers and Compressors : Maplin

on offer at the moment!! just plug the controller into the cigarette socket on the battery. PS you will need a battery charger as well if you don't already have one.

The Maplin 3 in 1 should come with a charger.

I run my setup from the house via a mains cable to a plugboard at the mount. I use a mains/cig lighter socket similar to the one you show to power my astrozap dew heaters. It is important though to use RCD protection on the mains cable to prevent a possible early finish to your observing career.
