Jupiter, 12 Nov, SEB revival

Friday night was too windy and showery to be able to use my CPC 11, but in view of the news of the start of the SEB revival and a favourable meridian passage time for the disturbance I had to have a go at imaging it ... with my William Optics FLT 110. It worked fairly well:

The SEB revival is the dark spot in the southern hemisphere to the left of the meridian, not the obvious diturbance in the NEB which projects into the equatorial zone near the meridian.

A stadndalone infra red image was also obtained:

2038 UT. CM1 334 deg, CM2 271 deg.

Be sure to watch out for this disturbance spreading - the revival of the SEB is usually quite a dramatic event, and I've proved that it can be followed with even quite a small aperture!
