Type 4/5/6 Nagler eyepieces

Can anyone explain what the difference is and which is better?

Different designs, covering different focal lengths - there's not really "better", just different.

The T6s are compact and cover the 2.5-13mm range, the T4s and T5s are much larger and cover 12-22mm (T4s) and 16-31mm (T5s). T4s have a bit more eye relief than the T5s.

Just in case you wonder, there were also type 1's and type 2's which do also come up for sale sometimes. There were never any type 3's though for some reason that I've never clearly understood

You will also see Nagler zooms mentioned quite a lot - these are great eyepieces as well but a different concept from the wide field Nagler designs - the zooms have a 50 degree field of view across their zoom range.
