Ushankas

Hi All,

I am looking for a warm hat for astronomy, and, from what I can read, Ushankas are the way to go. Does anyone have experience of faux fur Ushankas as opposed to real rabbit in terms of functionality? I would probably prefer to go for faux fur but then Russian rabbits have a few thousand years of surviving Russian winters behind them.

Any help/links for good Ushankas or suppliers would be most appreciated.

Faux fur will do fine in the UK .... real fur is better if you're intending to visit Siberia, and sable is better than rabbit.

Googling "ushanka" will get you a good source in the UK.
