Im thinking about getting this.... Moon & Neutral Density Filters - Baader Neutral Density Moon filters

Which density do I get with a 8" dob, Its mainly for the moon and reducing the glare from Jupiter which is really bright for me just now. Does it degrade the view and reduce the colour seen on the bands??

Neutral density has no effect on colours ... except that, if the image is dimmed too much, colour will appear to leach out as colour vision is lost at low light levels.

A good filter will cause little if any degradation. A bad one certainly won't improve the view!

I'd suggest a 12.5% / ND0.9 filter ... 25% / ND0.6 may be better for Jupiter but certainly isn't enough for the Moon.
