DSS and star count/score

Hi Guys

After getting my first 5 minute subs guided , when i put them through DSS - the Registering process for each 5 minute sub is recognising about 2200 stars .

The score count against each sub seems to be 11,500 !!!

Should i restrict the star recognition and subsequently score count ?

What effect is a high star count and score having ?

Is it detremental in any way ?

How would i (if beneficial) reduce the number of stars recognised in the subs ?

Also , DSS seems to recommend AHD debayering as the setting to use in the registering/stacking process.

Do you guys use this ?

When you hit 'Register Checked Pictures' a box comes up on the screen - 'Register Settings' - click the 'Advanced' tab (see picture)

Use thr slider to alter the star count - higher percentage = less stars. Move the slider and hit the 'compute' button.

Is there any advantage/disadvantage with respect to the number of stars detected?

DSS needs a minimum of 8 good round stars to work, so anywhere between 10 and 100 will do.
