Hi all.

I am having a problem with flexture using my Celestron C8,and using an 80mm guide scope.

I have tried numerous things to sort this but i am always getting oblong stars with exposures as short as 300 secs.

I am thinking of going down the OAG route,and i was wondering if i could use a spare Starlight xpress MX516 as an auto guider.I know its a bit bulky,but would it work in an upright position, (ie) protuding out of the off axis guider 1.25 barrell.

Check its the usb version. You'll need to update every 1-5s. This is my setup on a C8 with an SX lodestar:
