Does anyone use a pier and mount setup?

Any of you guys use a pier an mount setup or do most of ya's use a tripod and mount?

I have a pier in my rolloff obs. Why?

I like a pier at some point for my EQ6, prices being what they are I'd have to get the fitters at work to frabricate it for me.

Wish i could have a Pier in the back garden but i like to move the scope around to avoid roof tops etc etc but if the views were clear then a pier it would be! For now though the Heq5 does it magic..
