Voltage on Canon AC adapter question....

Hi all

Before I blow my camera into a jigsaw puzzle, thought I had better ask this question....

I have the AC Adapter for my 450D but would like to modify it to run from a 12v supply so I can use it in the field as well as at home.

The adapter outputs 7.4 volts, and this is what the battery is also rated at. However, I know you can get DC adapter leads for these camera's.

So, am I safe to chop off the adapter and use my 12v supply?

Yes, I've just ordered one of those adaptors from astonomizer. They're pretty good value compared to the official canon power adaptors. Hopefully it will arrive in the next few days.
