SW MN190 Advice please

Recommended Posts

I doubt you would regret it Martin :D

Collimation is no trickier than a normal Newt, except for the secondary rotation. Because of the corrector you need to remove the focusser and alter it through the aperture, IF it needs doing, and its a one off really.

I have a very heavy camera setup on the one I am using, with 8 filter filterwheel, H9 or QHY8, OAG, hotech SCA. There is a little bit of slop on the camera which does put collimation out a tiny bit, but at f5.3 its enough to show as oval stars. This doesnt have the newer style focusser on though.

I'm picking one up from FordPrefect on Saturday. Has the old focuser. Will see how I go with this for a while and probably connect it to a Lakeside motorised focuser. If it's not up the job I will change it.

What camera gives you the vignetting Pete?
