Superb Nick! Best I've seen of this not very prominent object ...

Tell me - have you stacked the comet & background seperately (I know DSS can do this) - I would have thought there should be some trailing of the stars (or comet) due to the comet's motion over 4 hours.

Brian , yes, I used a median combine in Maxim on the comet, and combined that into a seperate image, which almost eliminated the stars, and then an SD combine on the starfield, and then composited the pair in CS5
