Park scope position

Unfortunately.i don't think the roof will close when the scope is in this position.Would it be ok to leave the scope horizontal? The mount is a HEQ5,on top of a steel/concrete pier.

If you are using Eqmod, I think you can define a parking position to suit yourself, but don't take my word for it, wait for it to be confirmed.

Do you use EQMOD Sooty, or just the handset, and if the handset, which version?

Remember, a parked position is simply a known position that is used a the basis for all other positions. The "home" position is where the weights point down and the scope points up, but having things horizontal is fine.

I use one called "LEVEL" where both RA and DEC are horizontal and measured with a spirit level. This I use as a "reset" should anything go pear-shaped. My normal park position is weights down, scope horizontal

I use just the handset at the moment,version 3.27.

Have still yet to finish to roof,ie weathboards etc.

But,it is looking like I will have to have the weights down,scope horizontal.

I think you can also define different park positions on the handset, although not having one, I can't confirm!!
