ok well this is a reproccess because looking back at the first attempt it was a mess, and waiting for the moon and clouds to clear i thought i would have another crack at this.

Now that's NOT a mess! Clean result and without star monstrosities on those bright ones. They often blight a nice Pelican. Very good result.

If you could push the local contrasts a little harder you might give it even more bite, I think. But that is home and dry.

Great image. I would suggest having another round of 'curves' in Photoshop to brighten the nebula a tad and strenghten the contrast.
