Observation tents

Does anyone use them? Are they worth the investment? They aren't that cheap, but with winter on the way a little extra protection wouldn't go amiss.

Don't expect them to keep out wind and rain. One unfortunate chap got water in his mount at Kelling and blew a board on his EQ6 pro. I think the weather was a bit excessive for the design though. It was the one with the flat top.

I can't help thinking that a good tent for you and a robust bag over the scope would be cheaper, easier and more likely to resist wind and rain. If using an observatory tent I would 'belt and braces' it by having a bag over the stored scope inside but when tents do go down they make big sails and could take everything with them...
