I must say that such an open invitation is a really generous offer! Maybe you could add setting circles to the scope, I have seen a 20" obsession user use one to rattle round the sky at a fair pace. For ladders, the US crown seem to prefer wide ones with added half-steps.

All the best with the weather... Wales maybe dark but....
