Galaxy in the Dolphin - galaxy 348!

A clear evening

Out I went before that moon had a chance to rise! After a few failed efforts finally one I could see.

NGC 6928 in Delphinus. Its a nice oval shape but I could only pull this one out with averted dark adapted vision...It has two companions but I could not see these! The faintest star I could pick out in the field was mag 14.2.

NGC 6928 is apparantly 55 mpc from us so about 170m ly...so pretty distant.

So I am up to a total of 348 galaxies!;)

Clear again tonight I think!

Will do..I have now started to go through the DSS images of galaxies. I am beginning to be able to work out which ones are possible to pick out from that. A lot of whether I can pick out a mag 13 galaxy is dependent on its altitude. It makes a lot of difference from 20 to 70 degs at my location!
