Theophilus-Cyrillus-Catharina-Mare Nectaris

Hi all

I've been so tied up with work, I have hardly been able to get anything astronomical done. Here is a mosaic of the Theophilus-Mare Nectaris area taken back in February (!). I've actually got footage of the whole mare and the area going south to Piccolomini and the Altai Scarp. I'll post these later if they scrub up okay. Processed using Avistack 2, Registax 5 and put together in Photoshop.

Brilliant as ever, it still always amazes me how sometimes craters look sticky uppy intead of sticky inny.

Great stuff Nick! I don't usually like uplighting but it really works with this one, lovely processing.

Stefan: I know what you mean about uplighting, but I thought it made the smaller craters easier to see in this case.

I can never settle on a processing "routine" as the software is always moving on. With this image I used Avistack v2 on the Theophilus and Mare Nectaris areas and Registax v5 towards the bottom of the image (Catharina etc). Just what seemed to give the best results.

Fantastic shot Nick. I had to download it and rotate it to get the brain to see it as craters instead of domes.

Very tiny craters show fantastic seeing with a lovely Moonscape with not too much shadow.
