Coma Berenices, two images

Hi all,

Here's two images of Coma Berenices I took using my modded Canon 450D and Sigma 70/300 telephoto working at 77mm at F5.6

6 X 5 min subs at ISO 800, darks and bias subtracted.

Taken in La Palma on my Astrotrac.

First image is the standard view and the second is with diffraction spikes, added using Photoshop to make the stars more pleasing to the eye.

I prefer the second spiked image but what do you all prefer?

How did you do the diffraction spikes in Photoshop?

I think the diffraction spikes works best if used only very sparingly, so not sure which I prefer!

I prefer the spiked image aswell, its so easy to overdo it in photoshop but i think youve done a great job in making them nice and natural looking
