M74

Also managed to get M74 as well the same night as the M31 shot. This is one faint puppy!

Mag 10.5 - almost on the limit of my setup and the 300D I think (without going for longer exposures anyhow)

20 x 60 seconds subs usual set up includeing th Baadar LP filter.

I was a little disapointed with this image but the arms have started to come out so can't be all bad! but the processing needed to bring those arms out (even a little) was too much... Lesson learnt? More Subs less processing.

Good Effort Ant, i was looking at the image before reading your post and recognised it was M74 straight away so you must of done well matey! Like you say more sub's and you will get an even better image. Nice face on Spiral Galaxy and a [removed word] to view let alone image.

its there Ant , but i think that one is even harder that M31 so you done well with it , as you said it needs a great deal of frames to get it right,
