Celestron CCD

Recommended Posts

Hi all

Hope this is in the right thread

Has anyone used/bought a celestron nextimage ccd? I am thinking of buying one and the reducer lens as they are relatively cheap, but have heard they are more like a webcam,as my first foray into imaging,or can anyone suggest anything else or shall i save up a bit more and go for say the Meade DeepSky ccd,I am using a Meade LX90 ACF 8",

Regards nibber:confused:

Nextimage is indeed a webcam with the same chip as the Phillips SPC900. They're fine for solar system objects but require modification for dso's. I don't know about the Meade offering but the DMK's might be worth saving up for if your intent is dso imaging.

Hope that helps :)
