Cygnus - RSEQ1 test

Recommended Posts

Ok, it's rubbish, but it's a test of the RSEQ1 with the polar finder scope mounted on the polar axis...

The lens is an old manual lens and doesn't have multi coated anti reflection coatings, and I didn't realise how the light from the windows was going to affect it, even though the lens wasn't even pointed at them... That's what the red blobs are. I now have a dew/light shield made up.

Next test, repeat with the nifty.

Cheers guys. I'm not sure the OM adapter is the best... looking closely, there appears to be some oddities in the image, and not just the blobs... the stars along the lower edge look a bit comet like, but the top look good... I did wonder if the adapter was a good enough fit, it would appear not. Still hard to complain for a fiver.
