Widefield C/2009R1

Here is a crop of a widefield shot of Perseus with Comet McNaught.

Taken with a Canon 300d, 50mm lens at f/2 iso 1600 - 6x8s exposures, quickly and unagressively processed in IRIS.

Would have had more subs, but must have knocked the lens during the run, as the focus was way off ater the 6th.

Vey nice.. and has helped me make my mind up to go out for a mid week all nighter away from the obs based on a review of the clouds around 10pm

I set the alarm for 1.30 last night, and it looked pretty grotty from the house windows, but it was worth persisting and getting out there - though it was a bit chilly in pj's and dressing gown...
