Just found this on Ebay witha buy now price of £699 Link. Looks like a bargain if you can pick up from the Essex area

When they first came out a GP-DX without the skysensor stuff set you back that much, with the sky sensor they were a lot more expensive. Nowadays that kind of kit is way cheaper.

What mount do you guys think would be an alternative to this setup then, take into account the reputation/build quality of Vixen mounts, condition of his kit. What price would you expect to pay for the alternative?? I am not related to the seller in any way I am just curious.

The GP-DX is roughly comparable to a Sky-Watcher EQ5 in terms of payload but is probably better quality. They cost about £500 new.

Another £80 and you could buy an EQ6 Pro with full warranty.

Also, a forum member sold a GPDX last year with Sky Sensor 2000 and the same pedestal for £350.

Current new price for the GP-D with pillar and Starbook S controller set would be £799 + £449 + £599 = £1847 (as it says on the Ebay ad).
