Para focal Darkness

Recommended Posts

I have a Skywatcher Startravel 80 which I hope to use for guiding, I currently use a Barlow without the lenses and using either a 10 or 25mm EP can achieve focus, now when I use the Para focal lens provided in the LVI SmartGuider – well its like looking down a coal mine – I targeted Vega use the PF lens and I could focus it but its sooooooo dim and dark when i look through the PF lens, consequently when I went on to guiding later because any stars that are in view I simply cant focus on them – the PF lens just seems awful ?

Would I have been better going for a bigger scope for guiding or am I simply doing something wrong ?

Regards

John Berman
