QHY LRGB filters - any good?

Recommended Posts

I am looking to buy a good quality LRGB filterset.

2" QHY LRGB filterset is priced at £200, where as Astronomik and Baader are at £400.

Why is there such a huge difference in price? Is the quality substantially different?

Thanks,

Vincent.

Made by QHY and OB Optics in Taiwan. They are IR-blocked and parfocal (they say confocal) with each other and should be with incoming narrowband set. The price says it's all - they are better than non IR-blocked cheap sets but probably not as good as top LRGB sets (in max transmission, color balance, flashes).

I'm looking at the 1,25" set and if I don't find any second hand nice offer on Baader or Astronomik filters then I'll probably go with QHY filters :)
