Narrowband and one-shot-colour ccd

Recommended Posts

Can you use narrowband filters on a OSC ccd imager? and if so how do you process them say in DSS?

The normal routine de-bayers a 'normal' image - what happens to a norrowband image?

Could someone explain the routine to me - as if talking to a 5yr old would help :D

Hi, the same question was asked a month or so ago and the short answer was yes.

Not sure about your camera but on my Meade DSI IIc I can select mono and save all raw images, then I get luminesence fits files that I just read into DSS as raws.

I take subs in H-alpha, then subs in OIII. I stack the two sets separately. Then I load the resulting fits files into separate RGB layers in CS3. There is a way of making a simulated H-beta using 1/3rd of the H-alpha data.

Have a look at www.narrowbandimaging.com

I may have it somewhat round my neck but was interested so gave it a try.
