I sorted the chip distance on the Samyang 85 portrait lens yesterday and set it further back. The night was an absolute cracker, clear and dry, so the low altitudes were as good as they get. Three hours in the OSC/Atik 4000. 10 minute unguided subs aboard the Takahashi EM200 mount.

That Samyang 1.4/85 is getting alot of attention on the camera forums, beautiful image BTW :D

There looks like some aperture blade shadows, I take it this wasn't wide open?

Cheers Guy and Billy. How do I detect aperture blade shdows? I don't do much with lenses. This was down to f4.

I would have said the diffraction spikes on the bright stars... but they look fine and very "star" like :D

To get rid of these you need a lens with a circular apreture and that wouldnt be in this price range...

Superb VFM for a fast lens and nice results :)
