Neximage reducer

Recommended Posts

Use filter threaded focal reducer - many shops have them, FLO has this one, and modernastronomy has 0,5x reducer that halves focal length at 40mm distance from the camera CCD - if the distance will be bigger - more reduction, smaller distance - less reduction (calculator).

For a Maksutov you can use the stronger 0.5 reducer. If you plan to use reducer more ofthen with eyepieces or other cameras you an also look at SCT reducers that can be attached to Maks via special connection ring (both shops have them). Those reducers are bigger, and they also work as flatteners and can be further from the CCD/eyepiece (10-6 cm).
