Hi Earl,

Potentially great picture. I assume you used your Nikon?

If so, focus is really key to a great image, as is 'seeing' and 'scope collimation. I don't know the Nikon you have, but if you have 'live view' then focusing will be a lot easier. If not get the best you can through the view finder. Use a remote shutter release and if you have 'mirror lockup' as a function, this with help eliminate camera shake. The other thing is take plenty of frames at varying exposures. The Earth's amosphere will spoil the image, but you'll probably get one or two where the subject will come into focus.

Your CCD camera will help with atmospheric 'wobble' by taking multi frames, and you should end up with a nice sharp exposure.

Well done, just keep experimenting, it'll be worth it.
