Comet on the Friday 16th April?

Hi guys, just a quick question.

I live in Suffolk and i was in my garden, i think, Friday night (the 16th) around 10 o'clock, and i just sat down on a chair and looked up. I sat there for around, 30 seconds, and just as i was about to sit back up (my neck was almost falling off from bending it back so much!!) i saw a bright light that caught my eye. So i quickly looked up and i saw this redy, yellowy glow that looked like fire. It was traveling very fast, Then after about 3 seconds it just all of a sudden disapeared. There was no sound and looked very big.

I asked my brother what it couldve been and he said it might have been a commet or meteor?

Did anyone else see a similar thing??

where abouts in the sky was it, direction wise?

Ah, weirdly enough a few peeps at SGL5 also saw this I think.

I, on the other hand, was facing the opposite direction! typical!!

It was very high up North, heading towards the East. Did you see a similar thing??

I think not then, I was facing NE & was facing the wrong was so I'm guessing, some please correct me, that the object was in the SW direction ... ?

I was observing at that time on Friday but must have been too busy looking through the telescope and missed it. Darn!

could have seen it,

seen a couple north east recently.

could be a lyrid?
