Quick Alignment Question

All the manuals state that the park/home position is weights down, scope pointing up at polaris. I use a side by side setup so my dec axis is actually rotated by 90 deg, so does the software just assume that all is correct at power up and set everything to 0-0 regardless of where everything is pointing?

Yes, you are absolutely correct (assuming we are talking Skywatcher mounts).

Regardless of whether it is a side-by-side, over and under or whatever else, the home position is weights down, scope up.
