likewise here too. thought saturn was better than last week. sure i could see more detail.

the two moons were a real bonus for me.

lunar was so bright i did the same thing. was a bit blind for a good while!

saw peaks and valleys on the edges, (northern edge?) another first for me.

all in all a good night.

Did anyone else get the impression last night that those rings had gone even more 'edge on'? Last night was only my second saturn, first was about a week ago but I'm sure i could see a little more 'ring' last week, although this time I could pick out the planets 'stripes' like very subtle different contrasting fuzzy stripes.

The rings are opening up at the moment (they were edge-on in September 2009 if I remember rightly), though the difference of a week will be minimal. It is very difficult to remember exactly what you saw a week ago. Unless you have a drawing or photograph, it is difficult to compare two observations.
