mars last night

freezing and foggy last night. 17 feb , but this meant the seeing was very good. observed mars between 2200-2330 with my omc 140 at 250 + 310 x, used a baader contrast booster filter to reduce the glare.

a excellent view with the npc very bright still and surrounded by a very dark ring, mare cimmereum region on the central meridan

very prominent band across the south of the planet.

lets hope for more of the same soon, not tonight though its lashing it down.

Nice to see someone see somthing I did see Mars with the naked eye but that's all club night you see and the speaker was Stuart Clark and was speaking about the sun and time went quickly, thanks for the info I would have loved to see it through a scope
