hi to all, i got a national geo nr67az for xmas, and i am a total beginner when it comes to astonomy.ive had a couple of chances to use it, but dont seem to get a good focus.ive left it outside for over 1 1/2hrs. been looking at internet ever since at different equipment, books,etc. any advise?????

You might have a collimation problem Ben. Is this the one from Argos? Googling nr67az just gets me a postcode in Norfolk. Do you have a more accurate model name/number?

definately does sound like Collimation, have you also checked the eyepeices for dirt ect.., and what eyepeice are you using. normally on the side of the eyepeice it said's 25mm ect?

Thanks TopHouse - yes that looks like it's likely to be the one. The toy shop as I suspected - but still useable with the right ep's and good collimation/setup.

I'm intrigued by the 13x barlow that comes with it according to argos

It's a 3x really, same one they supply with the little refractor they also do.

Even the first review states that it was way out of collimation, and the eyepeices could not reach the stated magnification, however as brantuk said the right Ep and good setup.
