Close up of the moon

How do you achieve pictures of craters etc, do you need an eyepiece for magnification.

I have a CPC800 and a complete novice.

the most cost effective way to get close uos of the moon and images of the planets is to use a webcam, something like a Philips spc 900 nc or a neximage camera, about £60 ish for the first but they are hard to get now or about £80 second hand for the second, these will give you an eqvialent of a 6mm eyepice so you should get right close to the moon with your scope, to porcess the images theres lots of free software on the net which most people use, i.e. wx astrocapture and registax, i use mine as much as i can, some of the images you can get are amazing.
