Mars at last!

Finally got a shot of Mars, first decent chance this year (Jan 25, 23:05 CET). Could finally try my new Radian 8mm (really nice). Seeing was quite good, though there was the odd burst of turbulence. I took this with a Philips SPC900, using a Meade 3x TeleXtender on my C8. Final stack of 1692 frames, captured using K3CCDtools, stacked and filtered using Registax v5. no further processing yet.

Nice image Michael. You captured some nice surface features and the polar cap is clearly visible. Well done!

Using the wavelets in Registax should sharpen up some of the detail nicely.

I did use wavelets already. Pushing them any further gave some ugly artefacts. Will experiment more in the near future
