SILLY QUESTION

Hi All, i have the skymax 127 goto, from reading the posts on here it seems i may need a "Dew Shield", how do i make one and how far off the end of the scope should it over hang??, thanks for your time.

I guess x2 the diameter of the front plate overhang. ie 10"?

You can make it from an exercise mat - currently £4.99 from Lidl or £5.99 in Argos - just cut it to size and use strong tape (Duck tape) to hold it together (if you are rich use velcro!). It should stay in place but if not then a big elastic band will help. While you're at it make a "mini" one for the finder scope if you have one.

3x or even 4x is better in heavy dew conditions. But it becomes unmanageable in a breeze; fortunately dewing is less of an issue when it's windy. If you're making your own, make a "long" (3x) and a "short" (1.5x) & use the one appropriate to the conditions.
