Thousand Oaks Solar Prominence Filter

Pedro's site covers all (!) his equipment, but the solar filters are only white light versions not Ha.

I used the Lumicon version when I started viewing in solar Ha.

Fitted to a Meade 10" Lx200 and a x2 barlow. I used a AE 80mm ERF off axis in a DIY cover. It really needs a very collimated beam ie above f20

IMHO I was not overly impressed. The FOV always looked washed out and seemed to lack contrast. Yes, it did show the proms, but little surface detail. I later purchased a PST and found the views much better!

BTW it did work as a very nice Blocking filter on some early modded PST trials.

I sold mine to finance a move to the SolarMax 40 (PST double stack) which in turn was sold to pay for the SolarMax 60 ( double stack)
