Binocular Cleaning

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

i've finally got round to cleaning my binoculars. An old paid of carl Zeiss Jena 7 x 50's

I've cleaned them as you do using 70% ipa.

Problem is there are marks i can still see is a look through them.

I dont think its on the surface of either the objective or the eyepiece, so am starting to wonder if this can be behind the objective.

Is there an easy way (and safe) to remove the object so i might try cleaning the other side?

A weird question i know, but somehow i fear these are heading for the specialists to a general recon and perhaps recoat?

Many thanks in advance

Al
