Just found great lens cover

Sorry if this is old news ....................

I've been looking for an elasticate lens cover to go over the front of my scope in the observatory. After helping with the other half's nag (she's quite sweet actually, the other half is nice too ) I have just found the answer a horse bucket cover. They come in all shades (including pink!), are available from most feed/horsey merchants and most importantly are dirt cheap.

Sad what little finds do to brighten up a dull trip - had to explain to the woman in the shop what they were for!

Have they got one that fits a 16" aperture.

I have a "standard" one, whatever that means (!) and it just fits my 14" scope.

I am sure that there must be bigger ones and there are loads of on-line sellers. Alternatively just go to the local horsey type place - they will have them and you can measure them.

Will do. I will have 2 in black on for the top and one for the bottom.

I suppose it depends where you put it, over the scope or over the misses ;-)
