Need advice

I have noticed there are several newbies from Shropshire - well, I am another one. Over the years I have been involved in metal detecting, writing and sky diving, and need a new hobby now that the joints are starting to creek.

I am just in the process of buying my first telescope, and cannot decide on a SkyWatcher 114 or SkyWatcher Flex-Tube 130 - any opinions would be appreciated.

Hi Col-A and welcome to the forum

The advise you will generally receive here concening telescope choice will be that aperture is king so the Skywatcher 130 would be you best bet. There are lots around here with that scope.

I was leaning towards that one because of it 'grab and go' nature. Nice to know there are others that have it.

I am totally new to astronomy, and very much looking forward to my journey of discovery.
