Colour Mare Imbrium

Hi,

I got a new CCTV mini box colour camera and I thought I'd pop it in to my Skywatcher 102 Mak scope and take a look at the moon just to see what it could do by way of an experiment.

I opened virtualdub to capture a 500 frame AVI and took the saturation to peak and reduced the brightness a fair bit and the following is the result. No colour post processing just a tweak on levels, curves and unsharpen mask ans registax 4.

Not brilliant but reasonable for a really instant set up (took five minutes on a multi mount.)

For a really portable and small foot print its has worked really well as power to the mount also supplies the camera. Pity the laptop battery doesn't last that long.

Good detail and colour. Just a tad clipped at the white end(IMHO)

Thanks for the comments guys. Have to agree Clayton about the clipping but I hope you'll forgive the error as it was a rushed job lol.
