Printing Images

Where do people on here get their images printed off? I have tried a few online places and the photos although good for terrestrial images didnt seem to do very well at reproducing my asto images as they look on the pc screen. Any tips?

I had a friend at Pronto Print who was able to get the most out of some of my images - she new how to adjust the brightness to get the image to look right on the print compared to the screen image. I've managed A4 prints with my inkjet but I have to crank the brightness up to get it to look right - I suppose my gamma correction on the monitor is right and needs adjusting
