have decided to get StarTravel 150 on EQ5 then pick up a MAK a little later on.

Two good scopes and a good mount, how could i complain

the wife has just seen the specs and more importantly the price of the ED DS PROs, she dosnt look impressed

Both of the scopes have advantages and disadvantages - together they pretty much cover all the bases!!

Now go and get ordering before you change your mind!!

The star travel on the eq5 should provide you with some great deep sky views and the eq5 isn't too heavy to carry. Hope you have a good fun with the scope. It's an f5 telescope so you will probably need to be a bit careful on your choice of eyepiece, cheap wide angle ones probably won't give you nice views.

The mak will provide you with good planetary and lunar views (if you go down that route).
